Practical Life activities

The activities in this area, as the name suggests, are those that we need to do on a daily basis in our lives – washing hands, washing clothes, dusting, fastening buttons, chopping cucumber, making buttermilk, to name a few. These activities are of great attraction to the child as she sees her loved ones at home do them, and she wants to do the same. These activities lay the very foundation for enabling all other learning to happen. These activities help the child develop concentration, coordination of movement – both gross and fine motor, independence, confidence in her own abilities, self-regulation, reasoning, and decision-making.

The buckle frame helps develop the practical life skill of dressing oneself independently.
The child washes her hands using effective hand washing techniques. This activity offers an opportunity to develop personal hygiene skills.
The child practices pouring water precisely thereby developing concentration.
