Educating young minds is something we do with passion...

Dr. K. P. Gopalkrishna
Chairman & Founder

Educating young minds is something we do with passion in Global Montessori Centre. Every child that comes onboard doesn’t just learn from our carefully prepared environment but also has something to teach us about grooming young children and preparing them for many years of schooling to come. With over 25 years of experience in this field, we are constantly enhancing our academic programme. While quality is the most important consideration in maintaining academic standards, we make sure that it is deftly woven with fine threads of love and care.

Dean

“A first class system of early childhood education is the hallmark of a caring and civilized society”
- wisely opined Andy Hargreaves.

It is believed that young children’s experiences in early years have a great impact on their progress throughout school and their lives.

The first time children are separated from home is when they enter pre-school. We strive to provide them with an atmosphere where they feel secure. Hands-on activities, play, singing, drawing, social interaction and guidance given by the teachers provide the children with the skills to develop a positive attitude, self-esteem and self-confidence for life long progress and happiness.

Dr. Bindu Hari
Vice Chairman & Academic Head

Children of the Global Montessori Centre have consistently made a smooth and comfortable transition from home into the environment.

GMC has a well designed Montessori Environment that paves the way for development of Multiple Intelligences- Spatial, Kinesthetic Math, Logic, Music and Verbal Intelligence in every child. The environment by design creates numerous opportunities for children to work at a self- directed pace, take independent decisions and develop thinking skills, all of which contribute to boosting their self- confidence and self reliance.

Every teacher nurtures and cherishes the unique abilities, talents and characteristics of every child. Welcome to the joyous world of learning!

Mrs. Lalitha Das
Senior Principal

Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play IS serious learning

This is the principle driving Global Montessori Centre and it is our endeavour to make the learning experience for our little children as enjoyable as possible. We pride ourselves on having teachers, each of whom is a facilitator, tutor, an enabler, a caregiver and a playmate all rolled in one who strongly believes that “Children must be taught how to think and not what to think.”

We promise that each day your child will learn something new; some days it will come home in their hands, some days in their heads and some days in their hearts.

Ms. Aparna Iyer
Director

Early childhood is a period of great importance in the entire process of human development, as the foundation for intelligence and personality is laid during this period.

Every child is unique, following her own trajectory of development. As per The World Bank, Development in early childhood is a multidimensional process in which progress in one domain often acts as a catalyst for progress in other domains. Conversely, delays in one area of development can trigger delays in other areas as well. Physical, cognitive, linguistic and socio-emotional are the four domains of child development. One domain cannot be separated from the other.

All together, they result in the integrated development of the whole child. An essential aspect of early child development is that it a highly interactive process, requiring the child to form relationships with responsive caregivers, as per the Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University. The most effective caregivers are those who are not just trained in the understanding of the development of the young child, but who are also empathetic, warm, and love and respect children.

Dr. Montessori said, “The immense influence that education can exert through children, has the environment for its instrument, for the child absorbs his environment, takes everything from it, and incarnates it in himself.” The environment plays a key role in supporting the child’s development. The environment is not just an arid learning space where children prepare for academics but an organic social space, where children prepare for life itself.

The integrated development of the child is best supported in a safe, caring, carefully prepared environment, enabled by specially trained adults. At the heart of GMC, Gopalapuram, are these four factors – uniqueness of each child, integrated development of the whole child, specially trained teachers and a carefully prepared environment. GMC, Gopalapuram, is a space where each and every child is respected for her uniqueness and immense hidden potential. Each child’s trajectory of development is studied and the appropriate, personalized support is given for advancing her development, and optimizing her potential.
