Numeracy
Numeracy is the ability to apply math concepts in all areas of life. Children use early math skills throughout their daily routines and activities. They are exposed to the basic mathematical ideas of numbers and their relationships through various experiential activities. The children in KG I are offered several activities such as sorting, solving puzzles and building with blocks. They are also offered math-related vocabulary such as positional words, all of which help build their pre-math skills. They engage with the mathematical concepts that involve understanding numbers, counting, measurement and comparison, time, differentiating shapes, problem solving and reasoning. The kindergarten teachers introduce these abstract concepts to the children through various interesting activities.
