Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood.
- Froebel

Kindergarten Overview

Friedrich Froebel opened the first kindergarten in early 1800s, at a time when children below 7 years were considered uneducable. Froebel was convinced of the importance of education in early years. He laid great emphasis on ‘play’ in the lives of young children.

The kindergarten programme offered at GMC is a practice-based approach and is designed to act as the child’s first step in her educational journey. It has been specially created by our in-house experts who have stayed faithful to Froebel’s original philosophy while developing the curriculum and adopting appropriate teaching methodologies.

Our kindergarten programme caters to the ‘foundation years’ of children during which a strong basis is laid for linguistic, arithmetic, social-emotional, physical and creativity development. This is achieved by adopting various methods like free and structured play, hands-on activities, singing and movement, story-telling, self-expression activities, all finely balanced with a carefully curated set of workbooks and worksheets. Great emphasis is laid on a child's all-round development.
